CNG/LPG metering plunger WearAutomotive

A gas-tight system with ideal properties

The automotive industry is constantly looking for improvements and innovative techniques that meet the highest quality and environmental requirements. These techniques use high-pressure gas-injection systems with plungers. Of course, making sure the system is gas-tight is essential. But on the metering plunger, seals come up against the plunger surface. The damage caused by this is harmful to the system’s gas density.

The only solution to ensure the system continues to function properly is hardening the surface and improving the running characteristics. By applying hard inchromizing (CM 3001), we provide the metering plungers with a surface layer offering sufficient wear resistance and ideal running properties. Thanks to the new surface, the gas pressure and injection system function perfectly for a long time to come.
